Ordinary Resolutions
- Determined by a simple majority by showoff hands. If poll taken, share values counted
- Matters requiring ordinary resolution
E.g appointing a managing agent
Changing registered address
Removing a council member
Levying contributions
Special Resolution
- Require a substantial majority
- Means a resolution passed at duly convened general meeting against which not more than 1/4th in value of votes is cast
- Matters requiring special resolution
E.g making by laws
Selling a lot to recover contributions not paid
Accepting transfer of land to form common property
Unanimous Resolution
- Means a resolution passed at duly convened general meeting against which no vote is cast
- Matters requiring unanimous resolution
E.g making a by law conferring exclusive rights of privileges in respect of common property
Disposing of common property
Applying for exemption from insurance
