q Increase in Salary Ceiling for Skill Development Levy

With effect from 1 July 2004 , the Skills Development Levy salary ceiling will be raised from the current $1,500 to $1,800 to support the increasing emphasis on workforce training. The rate of levy will remain at 1% for all workers with a gross monthly salary of $1,800 or less.
